Book a Farm Animal Experience

Spend time meeting the animals that live here at Hazel Brow Farm.

During your Farm Animal Experience, you will meet our sheep, alpacas, goats and geese with a farmer. You will have the opportunity to interact with and help feed the animals, while learning about life on a working farm, the animals we keep and the wildlife that lives in our traditional hay meadows.

After your experience, you and your family are free to explore our Meadow Nature Trail, try the garden bug hunt, and make use of our indoor and outdoor picnic facilities.

Book an Alpaca Trek

This is a wonderful opportunity to spend time with the alpacas we look after here at Hazel Brow Farm.

On arrival you will be introduced to Apollo and his alpaca friends in the pasture by the farm and hear about their lives and some fascinating facts about alpacas.

Once the halters are on, you will take the lead as we set off on a gentle stroll through the beautiful pastures of Low Row in Swaledale. Along the edge of the dale there will be plenty of opportunities to admire the views and take photos with your alpaca companion.

We then return to the farm where you will help feed them and take as many photos as you like with these friendly and inquisitive animals.

DIY - Self-Guided Visit

Looking for a peaceful place to explore a little corner of Swaledale and enjoy a picnic?

Follow our Green Nature Trail down to the pebble beaches of the River Swale, passing through traditional hay meadows bursting with colourful flowers and bees during the growing season. The trail continues through woodland beside the river where, at low water levels, you may even be able to explore the beaches and search for fossils.

You can also enjoy our nature garden and indoor/outdoor picnic facilities.

During the summer holidays, follow the Yellow Marker Trail and see if you can spot the animals hidden in the trees and hedgerows, including rabbits, red squirrels and many other woodland creatures.

(Please note this is a self-guided visit and does not include feeding or handling the animals.)
