All sorts of people give up their time to help look after the National Park every year, between they do over 7000 days a year and are just as much a part of the National Park Authority as the staff and Members they work with.
Some enjoy learning new skills, meeting new people and making enduring friendships. Others love spending time in the beautiful Dales, sharing its wonders with others or helping to conserve and protect it. All of them can look back at the end of a day’s work and take pride in the fact they have made a difference to the Yorkshire Dales.
Hear from a few of them here:
Trevor Brooks – Ranger Volunteer
Frances Bland – Access Surveyor
Anne Hinkley – Learning and Engagement Volunteer
Jake Katborg – Ranger Volunteer
Volunteers Week – an annual chance to celebrate all that volunteers do
If you would like to know more about getting involved yourself, please see our Current volunteering pages.
