A Poppy Applique Workshop

The Green Howards Museum holds one of the first silk poppies ever made in its collection.

Join us for an afternoon of exploring poppy history and creating your own applique poppy with textile artist, Louise Goult.

Learn how to hand applique your own poppy –  a perfect way to use up small and precious snippets of fabrics.

The workshop will take you through selecting and layering your fabrics to hand applique your own poppy petals. Details will be built up using hand embroidery to add finishing touches to bring your poppy to life. By the end of the workshop, you will have created your own unique poppy to take home and frame, turn into a greetings card, or add to another project of your choice.

Suitable for all ages and all abilities.
