We’re growing a meadow for Grassington Festival 2018!
Thirty two square metres of wildflower meadow turf arrived at our offices by lorry in May and it looked fantastic, full of young flowers and grasses.
We unrolled it, laid it out in the sun, and it’s already beginning to bloom.
Our Dales Volunteers took the turf to seven local schools and, with the volunteers help, the pupils will be looking after their own bit of meadow as it grows.
Local artist Helen Peyton and our Education & Events Manager Catherine Kemp have been visiting the schools to make some meadow art in the meantime.

The annual Grassington Festival runs this year from 15 to 30 June and offers 15 days of fabulous music and art in the beautiful setting of the Yorkshire Dales.
