The Courtyard Dairy

The Courtyard Dairy is a truly special cheese maturer, having won World Cheesemonger of the Year, it is regularly cited as one of the best cheese shops in the UK (The Daily Telegraph lists it as one of the Top 10 in the World!)

Housed in an old Yorkshire Dales barn, it is a cool and humid shop where cheeses are piled high; where they mature to perfection before being sold. Owned by Andy and Kathy Swinscoe, who have a background working for some of Europe’s finest cheesemongers and affineurs (from London to Lyon), The Courtyard Dairy’s ethos is to only sell and champion truly special cheese; made by hand on independent family farms.
Stocking a selection of just 30 cheeses, all of which are made very traditionally on farms and most unpasteurised, the cheeses are all hand-selected and chosen at the farm before being aged to perfection.  A unique range of different and special cheese

As part of their quest to improve British cheese they have helped numerous dairy farms develop a farmhouse cheese on their own farm and document lots of informative cheese research, history and interesting facts within their museum.
