In 2015 four weary Dalesway walkers traipsed through biblical weather past a former Victorian school that was falling into disrepair. Today, you can stay in it. The renovated “Ruskin Hostel” provides the perfect location for walkers (on the Dalesway) or as a base for cyclists wishing to explore to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.
Currently not mixing groups so each booking reserves the bedroom at no extra cost.

The property

Within the newly built extension is the bunk room with four beds, perfect for those with muddy boots, sore feet and in need of a place to recharge. We would know! Designed with those who love the outdoors in mind it comes with a private ensuite, self-service breakfast and an evening meal as an option. Each bed has an individual reading light and USB charging points. It’s not just you that needs recharging! Outdoor seating areas and a fire pit are there to use on the rare occasions when it’s not cats and dogs out there. Armchairs are there for you to sink in to and games provided on request. Wifi, bedding and towels are provided, and we have numerous bike racks, and parking for one vehicle, should your trip require wheels and not walking trousers. Lastly, there is a microwave, a toaster, kettles and a selection of plates etc. either to prepare your own food or to heat the (Pre-Ordered) home cooked ready meals we offer at a reasonable cost. We think this is all you need after a day's exploring but let us know if we can make your stay more pleasant.

Guest access

Guests will have use of the bunk room and all outdoor spaces and hallway. There is a washing machine and Dryer on site to be used by request.
