The Bakery

Bakery staff start work in the early hours to produce fresh bakery goods for the shop and for wholesale customers. We produce three types of bread and a whole array of sweet and savoury goods including tray bakes, sponge cakes, pastries, sausage rolls and meat pies. Fresh hot and cold filled rolls are also available daily.

All of the eggs used in the bakery are sourced from Wensleydale free range eggs. These free range eggs travel the short distance from Leyburn to Hawes, from a family run farm which sits in the quiet rural village of Fingall.

The Cockett fruitcake is one of the shops most popular products.  Rich, moist and packed with currants, sultanas and cherries. A Cockett's fruitcake is a delicious treat for any occasion. We are excited to be able to offer our most popular 4 inch and 6 inch square fruitcake in our online shop.  If you require any larger sizes or alternative shapes then please contact us directly.

The Butchery

The location of the shop means we are fortunate to be able to source produce that is often raised in the fields and farms around us. David Cockett hand picks the shops beef, lamb, poultry, pork and game as locally as possible. The shop offers a broad selection of sausages, as well as a variety of delicious pies. Our pork pies are especially popular.

Watch out for seasonal special offers. Locally reared turkeys, geese and fowl can be ordered from the shop during the festive season.
