Grassington is the main town and a lively centre with shops, cafés and a regular farmers market, as well as now being the location of the fictional market town Darrowby in Channel 5’s All Creatures Great and Small.
There are some magnificent walks from the village itself, including the popular Dales Way alongside the River Wharfe, more energetic walks over Grassington Moor to see the lead mining remains or wanders to charming nearby villages such as Burnsall, Thorpe, Linton and Hebden. Our popular Grassington: Riverside and Woods leaflet trail can be purchased at Grassington National Park Visitor Centre and is an excellent walk if you’ve not visited before.
