Westmorland Dales Day, Kirkby Stephen, Sunday 31 July 2022
A celebration of the wonderful landscape of the Westmorland Dales and the people who live and work here, with conservation and countryside stalls, craft and food markets and entertainment and activities for everyone.
Chef John Crouch will showcase local sustainable produce in his cookery demonstrations, storyteller Emily Hennessey will explore the folklore of Mallerstang and its connections with King Arthur; and children can enjoy foraging (and hopefully feasting!) with wild play specialists Stomping Ground.
There’ll be guided walks, a display of vintage tractors, the old Stainmore Railway station and Winton Park Gardens will be open, and Cumbria Classic Coaches will run between attractions and the mainline Settle-Carlisle station. All events are free of charge and we’re very grateful for the generous support of our partners and sponsors including Cumbria County Council, Eden District Council, Kirkby Stephen Community Support, Pad 9 Youth Group, Walkers are Welcome and the Westmorland Dales Landscape Partnership.
