THE DARK SKIES EXPERIENCE
Friday 9 February, 2024 - Sunday 25 February, 2024
Dark Skies Feb 2024 DARK SKIESCAVERN
Throughout February 2024 you can dive
into a world where the underground meets
the cosmos.
Explore our natural show caves and discover
why astronauts train here – it’s a space-like
environment that challenges the senses,
teamwork, and communication,
just like on the Space Station.
Travel back to 1963 when rocket scientist
Geoff Workman spent 105 days underground,
as a human guinea pig exploring isolation’s
effects in a controlled cave environment.
But that’s not all. Our caverns are also a
gateway to the stars. Step into the Yorkshire
Dales’ ‘Dark Sky Reserve’ for a breathtaking
astronomical show. Peer through powerful
telescopes, witness planets, stars, and distant
galaxies up close.
