Tandey Discovery Day
Wednesday 30 October, 2024 @ 12:00 pm - 5:30 pm
He became known as ‘The man who didn’t shoot Hitler’ and was famously immortalised in Matania’s painting of Menin Crossroads: Henry Tandey’s life as a Green Howard was as colourful as his medal group.
With 30th October marking the 107th anniversary of the Second Battle of Passchendaele, join us at the museum for a Discovery Day on Private Henry Tandey VC.
There’ll be a talk on Henry’s life with the 2nd, 9th and 12th Battalions, a handling session of contemporary material from the collection, a museum tour and a viewing and handling session of the Tandey medal group, including the VC.
£55 with refreshments included.
Places limited to 15 so book early.
