Swaledale Festival – Guided Walk: Dales Flora and Fauna

May 26 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Meet at the doctor’s surgery car park in Aysgarth (junction of A684 and the road to Thoralby).

Led by Chris Meek and members of the Yoredale Natural History Society, a guided 3.5 mile walk through iconic Wensleydale scenery with an emphasis on the wild flowers of the region. The terrain may be uneven and muddy with numerous stone stiles, fields and minor roads. We’ll also pass through a Yorkshire Wildlife Trust reserve in an old quarry, an Edwardian rock garden and picturesque Aysgarth village. No dogs please.

Adults £10; Under 25s £3

Places are very limited so please book in advance. If a walk is sold out, you can call our office to add your name to the waiting list. Please let us know as early as possible if you are not going to use your walk ticket; we can’t offer refunds but someone else may be able to take your place.

You’ll need sturdy boots, waterproofs and a hat. For the longer walks bring lunch and water. Coins for ticket machines may be needed. Published durations are approximate. Thanks to the Yorkshire Dales Rivers Trust, Yoredale Natural History Society, Keld Resource Centre, the Woodland Trust, our walks co-ordinator Charles Collinson, all our walk leaders, and to our generous walks sponsors.
