If you would like to join us, please email me and let me know how many tickets to reserve for you and then you can pay on the door. In the past it has been free for children but as this is a fundraising dance we’re asking for an extra £5 per family if you’re bringing your children. Please let me know how many are coming.

Come and join us in keeping alive the traditional music and dance of the Yorkshire Dales! All ages are welcome and no dancing experience is necessary – each dance is explained and walked through before the traditional band starts the music.

Peter has been working on unearthing the dances that were still danced in the Dales villages in the 20th century, and it seems that couple dances were as popular as the set dances. So, we will be alternating couple dances and set dances. Many of these dances were simple to learn and to dance. There will be waltzes, polkas, and named dances such as The Boston Two Step, together with local favourites such as Buttered Peas and Meeting Six. A good time for all!”
