Oil and Cold Wax Art Workshop with Penny Hunt

October 27 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

art paper and tools on a table

Come and spend some time developing your painting skills in a relaxing, supportive environment. Workshops are open to all and being small groups only, are individually tailored to ability, it doesn’t matter if you are a complete beginner and fancy a day painting or if you regularly paint, everyone will gain something.

You will have the opportunity to use Wallace Seymour ancient drawing materials (stones and crushed earth pigment) to begin your drawing session and loosen you up to look for the different layers in the landscape, moving on to planning and developing small oil and cold wax paintings on paper. Hopefully some of the day will be spent outdoors where you are more able to capture the atmosphere, but that is weather dependent!

You will be shown different application techniques and tools, building up layers and how to use the cold wax medium, pigments and paints to create effects in your work.

Penny has taught art for over 30 years as well as creating her own work, so come and use the beautiful Yorkshire Dales landscapes for inspiration.

This full day adult art workshop links with the Drovers exhibition.

Lunch included.

Booking Essential.
