Nobody’s Friends
North Cumbria’s only Shanty group will be performing at Shap Farmers’ and Makers’ Market on 22nd June. Based in Penrith, 8 guys with a rich background in singing & folk music and some ‘nautical pedigree’ (sailing & ex-Navy the group was founded in 2022. They made their mark appearing at the Arnside Maritime Singing Festival and Lancaster Maritime Festival in 2023 and going on to become the ‘Official’ Shanty group for Workington Lifeboat. They’ve got numerous appearances planned for this years 200th Anniversary of the RNLI and promise to bring rousing Shanties & Sea songs for all those coming to Shap Market and encourage participation with some well known choruses.
