Memories of the Yorkshire Dales – John Conway
Venue:
Farfield Mill, Garsdale RoadSedbergh, Cumbria LA10 5LW United Kingdom

This exhibition will display a selection of watercolour paintings of landscapes and places that hold many memorise for John. Many are painted with a limited colour pallet, more in keeping with times past.
John is a retired Engineer who spent many years on the drawing board before moving into Management. Ten years or so before retiring at 72 he took up painting, something he has always wanted to do since he was young lad living in Accrington. His chosen medium is watercolour and his sketch books and photographs are the foundation for his finished paintings. John’s watercolour paintings and sketches are inspired by the beautiful landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales, where he has both caved and ridden his endurance horses.
John is lucky to live within the beautiful and wild Yorkshire Dales, where the landscape is a constant inspiration. He is also a member of the Sedbergh Art Societies who run demonstrations, workshops and have a late summer exhibition in Sedbergh, where he has exhibited and sold his work, he has also exhibited and sold his paintings at Farfield Mill.
