Call in to Malham National Park Visitor Centre during the Yorkshire Dales Cheese Festival Celebrating Local Produce for the opportunity to meet local artists at work.

On Sunday 9th October, meet landscape painter Brian Burton while he works on his latest sketches inspired by the local landscape.

Brian Burton has lived and worked in North Yorkshire as a painter and textile designer for over 30 years with many of his landscapes pay homage to the drama of Malham Cove. “My work is related to the landscape: an emotional response to places I know intimately having walked and sketched them numerous times. At Malham Cove there is a sense of melancholy and dread which is duly relieved once accepting the comfort of its ‘arms’ wrapped safely around you,” says Brian of Malham Cove.
