Over this long weekend you will journey into, through and around some of the most spectacular scenery that England has to offer, and get to see some of the country’s rarest wildlife along the way. Our experienced tutors will tailor the itinerary to suit the ages and abilities of the group and locations visited could include:
- The dramatic limestone features of Malham Cove (featured in Harry Potter) and Gordale Scar (subject of a poem by William Wordsworth)
- The classic dales landscape of Upper Wharfedale
- The impressive industrial archaeology of the old Craven Limeworks, including bee orchids
Throughout each day there will be plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife, activities to help explore the different locations and time to simply enjoy the experience of spending quality time together outside. As well as excursions away from the centre each day we will make time to explore what can be found in the area immediately around the centre, including the hundreds of bats which roost in the centre buildings, otters and water voles around the tarn and the rich variety of birdlife found in the woods and on water.
You will be sharing a room with your family
