Living History Weekend – Medieval weekend, Battle of Towton.  A guided tour of the castle will take place during the day from 12.30pm.

Our living historians will be on site to tell you about the castle’s involvement in the Wars of the Roses and the largest battle ever fought on English soil, the Battle of Towton in 1461. Examine the arms and armour and ‘have a go with a longbow’. Do you think you would have made the grade as a soldier, and which side would you have fought for?
