Join one of our popular ‘slow walks’ led by local residents Sue and Les Knight who are experts on the lichens of Upper Swaledale. After an initial introductory session in the visitor centre, with hand lenses, to allow familiarisation with some species, we will go outside for a local walk. The speed of our lichen walks is often described as ‘glacial’ in order to allow everyone time to study the various specimens.
