Ingleton Gala 60th Anniversary

Ingleton Gala has crowned a queen every year for the past 60 years. The time honoured tradition is a wonderful show of community spirit and hosts a fabulous family day out. Starting from 11am fancy dress parade goers gather at Ingleton primary school for judging. Over at Ingleton new village decorated floats gather to join the parade. This year the Batala band will be the lead, marching around Burnmoor crescent, through the community centre on to the village, where crowds gather to cheer on all the participants. Once the reach the wheatsheaf carpark they head onto the community centre field where the fun and games are held. The 2024 Royalty will be crowned, the awards will be given to the parade winners and the announcing begins of the events to take place; Children’s races, performers and of course the iconic egg throwing. The whole community sports field is filled with craft stalls, local businesses introducing themselves and community groups with BBQ, Cakes, drinks, tombolas and so much more!!! A truly wonderful day for all the family.
