Here’s a few words about the beneficiaries
Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity and Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association
Yorkshire Air Ambulance relies on the generosity of individuals and organisations to help save lives across Yorkshire.
It only receives help through the secondment of paramedics and doctors from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust. To keep both of Yorkshire’s air ambulances in the air we need to raise £19,000 per day.
As a rapid response air emergency service the Charity serves a population of approximately 5 million people, across 4 million acres. The two air ambulances operate from airbases at The Nostell Priory Estate, Wakefield and RAF Topcliffe, Thirsk. Together with two Rapid Response Vehicles (RRVs) they cover the whole of the region.
For over 70 years UWFRA has been rescuing people and animals from the caves, mineshafts, fells and crags of Wharfedale, Nidderdale, Littondale and Mid-Airedale. Rescue services remain free to all, day or night and are financed entirely by fundraising events and donations.
