A rare opportunity to see The Normanby Room dressed for Christmas and set with glistening silver from our collection, evoking the days of a grand festive event in the Officers’ Mess.

We’re celebrating our golden anniversary by getting some of our silver out from display!

Experience the unique atmosphere of this special space; the tree decked out with Christmas lights twinkling, glassware glinting, cutlery polished, regimental silver standing ready, Mousey Thompson tables meticulously laid in anticipation of the revelry ahead, chairs pulled out awaiting their guests to arrive.

We have decided not to add a premium to our normal admission charge to experience the Normanby Room in all its sparkling seasonal finery during this limited time, but we would very much appreciate it if you would consider making a donation during your visit if you enjoyed the experience.

The museum marks 50 years in its home in the middle of Richmond. This event is part of a programme of activities happening during 2023 to make the most of this milestone year, and raise funds as part of a three-year project to enhance a much-loved, well-used space in the museum; The Normanby Room. Find out more here.
