Championing National Parks for Everyone – Community Consultation and Networking Event
Venue:
Thackray Museum of Medicine, Beckett Street, Leeds, LS9 7LN
We would like to invite you to a community consultation and networking event for a new project:
The project is led by Peak District MOSAIC, working with the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and Peak District National Park Authorities to connect communities with their local National Park.
Our vision is that everyone should be confident to visit and enjoy National Parks for the benefit of their health and wellbeing, developing new knowledge and skills and to help protect National Parks for future generations.
We have received a development grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, which aims to support more people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities to build a lifelong relationship with National Parks. We plan to run a series of different opportunities to increase peoples’ knowledge about National Parks and increase confidence accessing them. This will include running training to help create a network of Community Champions who are empowered to lead their own visits that introduce others to National Parks in a way they think is best.
Initially we are delivering a series of networking and community consultation events to help develop our plans. We are particularly interested in getting feedback from a range of voluntary. community and faith organisations, led by Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities or who work closely with those communities.
