Beginners’ Guide to the Night Sky with Richard Darn at Grassington Bunk Barn – stargazing with hot chocolate and biscuits

February 10 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Grimwith at night - a blue velvety night sky with a glow from the stars

Here at Grassington Bunk Barn have the wonderful opportunity to host an evening of stargazing with expert Astronomer Richard Darn. Spotting ancient constellations and finding distant galaxies. This is a fun practical session to take your astro knowledge on to a new level. With a laser guided tour, using binoculars and telescopes to unlock some of the treasures of the cosmos. You will even get chance to handle space rocks over four billion years old!  Great for kids over six and adults.

Don’t panic if the clear starry skies become obscured by cloud or rain we’ll head inside the bunk barn for a fascinating beginner’s tour of the heavens using planetarium software.

This event is ideally suited for beginners and novice stargazers.

There will also be an opportunity for a hot chocolate and biscuit break (vegan options available). Please bring your own travel mug to help keep your hot chocolate warm.

We are located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales where there is minimal light  pollution, big open skies and dazzling starry displays. This event is part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park #DarkSkiesFestival.

Tickets are £15 this includes a guided talk by our astronomer and a hot chocolate and biscuits.

Tickets are available at Eventbrite click here.
