Archaeology talk- Overground/Underground – a caving archaeology project in the Yorkshire Dales

June 1 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

three people standing by a rock

Join cave archaeologists from UCLAN and the YDNP Historic environment Team to understand more about who might have inhabited the caves in and around Ingleborough as part of the Foundation for Common Land: Our Upland Commons Project.

Finds from within the caves help us understand life in the area in prehistoric times, including human and animal bones and stone tools, alongside new scientific analysis that helps us understand the environment and how people lived.

Detailed survey of the landscape around the caves also shows us a wealth of new evidence about past life on Ingleborough Commons. Why not visit the exhibits on display as part of the OCC exhibition excavated from the local area.

No booking required.
