A Beginner’s Guide to the Night Sky

Venue:
Yorkshire Dales National Park
Stellarium

Join astronomer Neill Sanders for this introduction on how to find your way around the night-time skies. Neill will use the fantastic “Stellarium” planterium software to show you how to spot planets, identify some of the brighter stars and constellations as well as locate interesting objects that you can observe using binoculars or a telescope, as well as what to look out for over the coming months. An ideal introduction for anyone getting started in astronomy!

This event is FREE OF CHARGE and will take the form of a Zoom meeting that will also be streamed LIVE to the Go Stargazing Facebook page. If you wish to participate in the Zoom meeting (where you may ask questions of the presenters) please register by clicking on the event website.

The event is taking place as part of the National Parks Virtual Dark Skies Week which is organised jointly by the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks, this with enthusiastic support from the team at Go Stargazing!
