On Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 September, the famous Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes hosted a two-day celebration of the Dales rich-cheese making heritage, with market stalls, cheese tasting, pairing and grading, and cookery demonstrations.
There was the chance to meet amazing local suppliers in the food and drink marquee, with over 30 different stall holders selling goodies to enjoy on the day or take home ranging from homemade preserves, crafts and cheese to beer, gin, baked goods and ice cream – it was udderly brilliant!
There was also a BBQ and live music, along with a bouncy castle and children's entertainment. And the Yorkshire Air Ambulance were there with virtual reality goggles so you could experience what it's like to take a flight in their helicopter!
Suppliers in the marquee included: Wensleydale Creamery, Shepherds Purse, The Swaledale Cheese Company, Pextenement Cheese Company, Yorkshire Dama Cheese, Northumberland Cheese Company, Teesdale Cheesemakers, Parlour Made, Appleby Creamery, The Chilli Jam Man, Rosebud Preserves, Yorkshire Honey, Fearne and Rosie, Inspired Chocolate, Brymor Ice Cream, Richmond Brewery, Yorkshire Dales Distillery, Masons Dry Yorkshire Gin, Sloemotion, Yockenthwaite Farm, Seasons Cakes, Yorkshire Provender, Simply Stuart Clarkson, Hannah Russell, Noveltea, Barn Craft.
The Little White Bus provided a transport service running between the Dales Countryside Museum and Wensleydale Creamery, with a stopping point in Hawes town centre- and it was free to visitors who had booked their tickets in advance!
