Lucy Pittaway is an award winning artist based in Yorkshire. After attending school and Art College in Darlington she then headed to Northumbria University to study Graphic Design, Mixed Media and Photography. A successful career followed as a Graphic Designer, before moving into teaching roles in Graphic Design, Photography and Animation at a North of England Art College. Lucy decided to pursue a lifelong dream of becoming a professional artist, and started working from her small studio at home where she created one off commissions and prints for exhibitions as her award winning pastel art came to fruition.
The Lucy Pittaway Limited Business was formed in May 2015 by Lucy, husband Neil, brother Steve and sister-in-law Felicity. They combine their successful business careers with Lucy's artistic talents to build a bright and colourful array of art inspired ceramics, textiles, calendars and more. All of these come alongside Lucy's bright and colourful print and canvas artwork. It's a true family affair, conducted with passion and the finest attention to detail - from Lucy's artwork itself, to the giclee printing and picture framing. Nothing leaves the Lucy Pittaway headquarters until the whole team is happy the quality is the best it can be.
By 2017 the business won 'Best New Art Business' at the Fine Art Trade Guild Awards, and employs a truly fantastic team of people at the Yorkshire HQ.
Lucy's artistic talent has also been recognised by the Fine Art Trade Guild, naming her the 'UK's Best Up and Coming Artist Of The Year' in 2016. This was then followed by the accolade of the 'UK's Most Popular Selling Published Artist' award in 2018 driven by the immense popularity of Lucy's artwork through the two Yorkshire based Lucy Pittaway Art Galleries and the Lucy Pittaway website. 2019 once again saw Lucy named the UK's Most Popular Artist by The Fine Art Trade Guild, and the business awarded 'Best Art Website 2019'.
Lucy and her team are delighted to run three galleries filled with her vibrant artwork, homeware and gifts - one in Brompton-on-Swale, another in Richmond town centre and our newest gallery on Yarm High Street.
