The Yorkshire Dales National Park boasts some of the most stunning scenery and best opportunities for outdoor recreation in Britain. It provides an enviable setting for this interesting and varied role.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, with a ‘can-do’ attitude to support the Estates Manager in the provision of effective and efficient property management and maintenance service. Who would relish the challenge of maintaining a portfolio of properties across the Park, including 2 offices, 3 national park centres, a museum, 4 ranger bases, and 10 toilet blocks.

Your responsibilities will include: undertaking routine inspections, maintenance and general repair work on Authority property; advising staff on matters of property maintenance; assisting Ranger services with joinery work; being responsible for the day to day running of the Authority’s workshop including responsibility for machinery, equipment, health and safety, general security and tidiness of premises and yard.

You will be joining an organisation which is passionate about the area which it looks after, and although you will be based at Grassington, you will have the opportunity to work and travel throughout this beautiful landscape working with a wide variety of staff and volunteers.

    We are looking for enthusiastic people to join our Information Adviser teams at our Grassington and Malham National Park Centres.

    Acting as a front line communicator with visitors to the National Park, ideally you will enjoy working with people; have a good knowledge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, particularly the area where you will be working and have an interest in promoting the National Park Centres.

    Experience of working with the public in an information or sales environment and computing skills will be an advantage.

    We have 2 vacancies that will provide cover at both our Grassington and Malham Centres.

    The vacancies are for 580 hours a year each.

    You will be required to work some weekends and bank holidays and occasional evenings but your salary includes a supplement to take this into account.

    An enthusiastic, capable and self-motivated individual is required to run two established Young Rangers groups in the north and west of the National Park. Young Rangers are aged between 11 and 16, each group meets on one weekend day each month to take part in practical conservation tasks.

    This post is a maternity cover post for the current Young Ranger Officer and project activity is well established. You would be expected to plan and organise all aspects of the programme of monthly task days for each Young Ranger group, from working with YDNPA Rangers and with other organisations to identify suitable tasks, to taking part on the day and running project evaluation and reporting as required.

    The role will also link into a larger project called Green Futures which is led by the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust and supports and develops environmental opportunities for young people in the Yorkshire Dales. You will continue to integrate Young Ranger activity into this wider programme.

    Part of the role will involve producing project reports, making financial claims and keeping records. This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service application.

    It is anticipated that interviews will be held during the week commencing Monday 24 February 2020

    We have a rare and exciting opportunity as we’re looking to recruit a Head of Policy to lead our work in engaging with national policy; to develop (with the Executive Director and the Authorities) NPE’s policies and positions; and to present these to senior national policy-makers.
