Dales Way (Grassington area) – Footpath maintenance

Nr Grassington, North Yorkshire

The Dales Way is a popular long distance footpath of about 80 miles (128 km) situated in the north of England and running from Ilkley to Bowness-on-Windermere.

We are looking for a group of volunteers who are able to help us carry out some maintenance work on a section of the footpath close to the picturesque village of Grassington.

The wear and tear of walking boots takes its toll on the path, and busy sections need resurfacing from time to time. The task involves shovelling, barrowing, laying and raking out aggregate to resurface the path. No previous skills necessary!

Your group will get the opportunity to work with members of our Ranger team in helping to protect and improve this important public right of way.

Adjacent to the River Wharfe this is a great opportunity to get some fresh air in a beautiful location and stretch muscles you didn’t know you had! The task will challenge your team  and hopefully they will get a tremendous sense of satisfaction from a job well done and from knowing that they have made a difference in helping to look after a little bit of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
