Distinctly Westmorland Dales

The Westmorland Dales Landscape Partnership Project was a collaborative project between local communities, businesses, and organisations aimed at preserving and enhancing the natural and cultural heritage of the Westmorland Dales area. The project was funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

One of the key objectives of the project is to support the local economy by helping businesses in the area to thrive. By promoting the unique and beautiful landscape of the Westmorland Dales, the project helped to create new opportunities for businesses to attract more customers and generate more revenue. For example, the project worked with local businesses to develop new tourism products and services that showcase the natural and cultural heritage of the area. This included developing new walking and cycling routes, creating new visitor experiences, and promoted local food and drink products that make the area unique. The project also provided support and advice to businesses on how to improve their offer with regards to capitalising on the ‘sense of place’ and the benefits living in and around a National Park can bring.
