Opportunities to work with us

The Tourism team is constantly looking for new ways to create awareness of opportunities for local businesses to get involved in, providing advice and support, creating marketing and promotional material, tourism packages, toolkits and collaborating with organisations and businesses to deliver these opportunities.

Apply for funding

Our Sustainable Development Fund provides money to support projects that promote a more sustainable way of living in, working in and visiting the National Park, whilst conserving and enhancing its local culture, wildlife, landscape and communities.

Grants are on offer to individuals, businesses, community groups and voluntary-sector bodies, and projects can be far-ranging – from community composting and appropriate renewable energy schemes to sustainable transport and eco-tourism.

For more information on the fund and how to apply see our Sustainable Development Fund page. If you think you have a project which might fit the criteria contact Andrea Burden, Sustainable Development Officer, on 01969 652337 or

The Yorkshire Dales Experience Collection

During 2018 and 2019, we worked to develop the ‘National Parks Experience Collection’, as part of the Discover England Fund. The project aims to increase the number of international visitors to England, by supporting local businesses to create immersive experiences which will appeal to international visitors. In 2020 this project was extended to create bookable, authentic experiences, aimed at the domestic market.  Whilst the funded work to create new National Park experiences has come to an end, we know there are so many more opportunities out there that we’d like to promote. So, if you’re already offering or interested in creating authentic experiences which sell what’s special about the National Park, please contact us.

The Three Peaks

The Three Peaks area is one of the most well known and most walked places within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. If you want to work with us as a Friend of the Three Peaks there are opportunities such as featuring on the Three Peaks App, profit share on retailing Three Peaks souvenirs, opportunities for volunteering for practical work with the Three Peaks ranger as well as showing your support for the work to improve the rights of way in the area.

Wildlife Tourism

How can your business help support wildlife conservation? One key area of local distinctiveness is Wildlife Tourism. You can use the Red Squirrel Trail at Snaizeholme as a way to attract visitors to your business and create awareness of our furry friends. The opportunity to view these rare creatures is something lots of people would like to experience.
