John Muir Award

The John Muir Award is the engagement initiative of the John Muir Trust. It encourages people of all backgrounds to learn about the special attributes of wild places. The Award aims to help participants to connect with nature through the four areas: Discover, Explore, Conserve and Share.

Update as of January 2026
After a pause for redesign, the John Muir Award are now accepting proposals for the Wild Places Guardian level, previously known as the Discovery Award. Further levels, referred to as the Wild Places Protector and Wild Places Champion will be rolled out in due course.
