It is an exciting time for young people in the Yorkshire Dales National Park right now! We have lots of opportunities.
We think all young people should experience the Yorkshire Dales for themselves; to explore our special places and develop the skills and knowledge to help look after them. We have activities and programmes for youth groups, this page is for young people who want to get more involved with looking after the National Park.
Young Rangers and Up Skill Down Dale sessions are fun, friendly and inclusive, and the staff and volunteers who run them are trained, empathetic and experienced. They support group members to learn new skills and understanding, work with others and play a real part in the conservation of our iconic habitats.
Young Rangers runs all year and young people can join the group at any time from the summer they start year 7. Up Skill Down Dale is a year-long programme for up to 12 young people with recruitment for each year starting in Spring.
For organised groups of children and young people, our education and youth group activities are fun days out that connect young people to nature.
