Notice of intention to apply for confirmation of byelaws relating to car parks

Notice is hereby given that the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has made byelaws relating to car parks under Section 90 subsections (1) and (5) of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949.  In accordance with section 236 of the Local Government Act 1972, the Authority intends to apply to the Secretary of State for Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation of those byelaws.

Application for confirmation of the byelaws will be made on or shortly after 18 May 2022.

The byelaws will not come into effect unless and until they are confirmed by the Secretary of State. The Secretary of State may confirm or refuse to confirm the byelaws submitted for confirmation, and may fix the date on which the byelaws are to come into operation. If no date is so fixed, the byelaws shall come into operation at the expiration of one month from the date of their confirmation.

Copies of the byelaws have been placed on deposit at the offices of the National Park Authority at Yoredale, Bainbridge, Leyburn, North Yorkshire, DL8 3EL and at Colvend, Grassington, Skipton, North Yorkshire, BD23 5LB and may be inspected without payment on any weekday during usual business hours for one month from the date of publication of this notice.

Any objection to the application for the confirmation by the Secretary of State for Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs of the byelaws may be made in writing to Clare Burrows, Solicitor and Monitoring Officer, Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, Yoredale, Bainbridge, Leyburn, North Yorkshire, DL8 3EL by 16 May 2022.
