3 more years for Farming in Protected Landscapes programme
The Government-funded Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) programme has been extended for another three years, with £30 million confirmed for 2026/27 across England’s 44 protected landscapes – great news for farmers and landowners in the Yorkshire Dales National Park!
In its first four years, FiPL supported over 11,000 farmers and landowners across England’s National Parks and National Landscapes, helping nature recover, boosting climate resilience and protecting our rural heritage. In that time:

| 💧716 ponds created or restored | ⚒️362 heritage assets protected |
| 🌱362 km of new hedgerows created | 🪨33km of drystone walls restored |
| 🥾103 km of new access paths created | 💦1,300+ flood resilience projects |
Behind these numbers are powerful stories – wildlife returning, communities connecting, children learning about farming, and farmers working together at landscape scale. The FiPL journey so far has shown what’s possible when farmers, communities and nature work together.
