Santa’s Grotto at Ingleborough Cave

Ingleborough Cave, Clapham North Yorkshire LA2 8EA United Kingdom

An adventure underground to visit Santa at Ingleborough Cave, in the quaint village of Clapham in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, is a Christmas tradition for many families in the Lancaster area. This unique and magical family experience starts at the head of the village, as visitors follow the winding track through the woodland of the Ingleborough Estate Nature Trail, past the sprawling lake, the money tree and “Aunt Bessie’s Grotto”, before emerging at the imposing entrance to Ingleborough Cave, first discovered by brave Victorian explorers in 1837.

A magical journey beckons, but not before ‘Elf & Safety’ has fitted you in an appropriate hard hat! Santa’s Elves then lead visitors into an underground winter wonderland, as they tell the story of Christmas at Ingleborough Cave, before the twists and turns bring you to Father Christmas and his vast table of presents!
