Every Spring Bank holiday the Bradford Pothole Club erect a gantry across the 100m deep shaft of Gaping Gill, a cave system on the SW slopes of Ingleborough at an altitude of 1300ft (400m) above sea level, with over 22km of known passages. Giving the public the opportunity to descend into the Main Chamber probably the finest chamber in the country and view Britain’s highest unbroken waterfall. There is no pre-booking and queues are the norm. Full details of the event are on the club website http://www.bpc-cave.org.uk/wp/gg-winch-meet/?LMCL=z0ChK_. There is a limit to how many people we can winch in a day and may have to close the book part way through the day, also in the event of bad weather we may need to close the event. We apologise for any disappointment this may cause.
