Crosdale Bridge

This bridge was constructed across Crosdale Beck in 2010. The original crossing point on this beck had become increasingly difficult and dangerous to cross after heavy rain. It was decided to divert the footpath up stream by a short distance and to build a bridge where the river banks are higher. The footpath has a lot of use both locally and as part of the Dales Way long distance walking route. The bridge was built by the National Park Authority with the Dales Way Association and Ramblers Association contributing to the costs. Photographs show the bridge, the diverted path to the bridge and the opening ceremony with Ranger and members of the Dales Way Association.
