To celebrate the wonderful dark skies of the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors National Parks are holding a second dark sky festival in February 2017 with loads of great activities over half-term from 18 to 26 February.

You can find the full programme on our special dark skies website.

Planetarium

Cosmos Planetarium are bringing their state of the art, multimedia, indoor planetarium back this year.  Last year over 150 people got to experience a 360 degree journey through the stars inside this inflatable dome!  This year it will be popping up at Grassington Primary School.

Rocket Workshop

We had so much fun making and launching rockets last year that we are running Rocket workshops across the National Park. We couldn't believe how far a rocket made from a plastic drinks bottle could go, and our Ranger Paul had to retrieve quite a few off the roof!

Stargazing in Sedbergh
