If you fancy a day off the bike then there are plenty of other things to do.

Stay active

Try one of the many great walks in the area or visit one of the many waterfalls such as at Aysgarth, Ingleton or Hardraw. There are also opportunities to be a bit more adventurous, as the Yorkshire Dales is home to some of the best caving and rock climbing in the country. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have any experience, as there are some great companies to guide you.

Great events

If you want to see what events might be on whilst you are here then there is a comprehensive list of everything from guided walks to festivals

Retail therapy and culture

If you need a more sedate day you can visit one of the many market towns for a bit of retail therapy, or head to Harrogate or York for the day. For a bit of culture you could visit one of the many castles, a historic site such as Fountains Abbey, or one of the many country houses and gardens. See Attractions more details.

Relaxation or indulging your inner child

For some serious relaxation and pampering try the Turkish Baths in Harrogate, or to be a big kid try Forbidden Corner near Leyburn or the high ropes course at Camp Hill.
