The Cheese Festival Programme

We have created a fantastic and exciting virtual cheese festival, celebrating local produce which is taking place within the Yorkshire Dales National Park and Nidderdale AONB.

We have an amazing array of events taking place over the week some of which you may need to book on, some are free. Please contact the event provider for more information.

CHEESE FESTIVAL @WENSLEDALE CREAMERY - 23rd and 24th September

There will be cheese and butter making demonstrations, cookery demonstrations, cheese grading demonstrations, cheese presentations, cheese pairing and cheese tasting workshops. Some of these demonstrations you will need to book on, some will be free, for more information please contact the Wensleydale Creamery.

There will also be the opportunity to meet the suppliers of some of the fantastic produce sold in the Wensleydale Creamery shop, along with local Yorkshire cheese producers and bakers and for the children there will be a play area with a bouncy castle and soft play supplied by Wensleydale Inflatables, so they can have fun, play and get creative.

During the week of the cheese festival, celebrating local produce there will be lots of different events happening through the Yorkshire Dales National Park and Nidderdale AONB, giving you the opportunity to visit different places in the Dale and expereince some amazing food.

Saturday 23rd:

Farm to Folk Presentation, a fantastic opportunity to learn about local sheep farming and try amazing local lamb, at the National School, Hawes.

Sunday 24th:

Meet the Maker, an opportunity to meet all the local suppliers in the tearoom at Jervaulx Abbey, Jervaulx, Ripon. FREE

Guided Walk learning about the history of milking in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, meeting local farmers and visiting the museum starting at the Creamery in Hawes at 1pm - 4pm. For more information contact the Dales Countryside Museum

Making and Marketing Cheese in the Victorian Kitchen at the Dales Countryside Museum, Hawes. 2.00pm - 4.00pm.  For more information contact the Dales Countryside Museum.
