Unusual oblong trough set in the base of a tall deep wall in a private yard next to a barn. There was a tall recessed space above it and a thin stone lintel supporting the top part of the wall above. A narrow oblong space to one side may house a pipe lower down as the trough was filled with water and still in use. Also a square recess was set higher in the barn wall along side.

This is an old handmade roadside metal trough which I suspect replaced the original stone one. It is water fed from the mill race, through a stone runnel which can be seen in the undergrowth.

Unusual pair of troughs with water diverted from brook running under/through wall. Water flows into the first one which seems to filter the silt to allow the second one to be full of mainly clear water. The water then runs through a hole in the latter trough and back into the brook. Seems well maintained with recent undergrowth removed.
