Getting involved

Volunteers play an essential role in helping to conserve and enhance areas such as the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

If you would like to join our team of volunteers helping out at the 'A date with nature' project at Malham, or would like to find out more about a wide variety of projects that you can get involved in, why not think about joining the Dales Volunteers or volunteering for the RSPB.

This year we are also very excited to be able to offer new opportunities for you to get involved with ‘A Date with Nature’ online. One of the wardens who helps run the project has set up three social networking pages featuring the Malham peregrines. Start with a look at up-to-the-minute ‘tweets’ on the malhamperegrine Twitter feed. There’s a chance to catch up on peregrine action at Malham and all over the world, including a webcam in a peregrine nest box in Maine, USA!. On Facebook, Malham Peregrine Watch is the name of a new group page. Become a friend and follow stories and news from visitors and volunteers or add your own. Finally, if you are a keen photographer check out the Malham Peregrine Watch group on photo-sharing site Flickr. Upload your photos as a memory of your day out or marvel at some of the amazing shots of peregrines in action.

Finally, don’t forget to bookmark these pages on your own social networking sites.
