Find out more about Open Access

Open Access Logo

The Countryside Access website provides the most up-to-date information about where you can go on access land in England and Wales, and where restrictions exist. This should be used in conjunction with an OS Explorer map.

Local Open Access information including local restrictions and closures will also be available at the Access Information Points listed below. These points are also marked on OS Explorer maps.

In addition, the new access symbol  - see above left - may be displayed to help guide you at some entry and exit points. Look out for this, it shows that land is open for public access on foot or by wheelchair. Access rights for other activities may also apply.
