Coming up: farm advice meetings

Evening meetings for upland farmers on grants and stewardship schemes are to be held during the next few weeks in Buckden, Hawes, Settle, Sedbergh, Orton and Reeth.

Advice and assistance will be provided on Countryside Stewardship Mid and Higher Tier applications;  the Hedgerows and Boundaries scheme; Water Capital and Woodland grants; and Ammonia Emissions guidelines.

The meetings are being organised by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority and will all start at 7.30pm, with a free supper included.  

Locations and dates are as follows:

  • Buckden Village Hall, Wednesday the 23rd of January
  • Wensleydale Pantry, Hawes, Thursday the 31st of January.
  • Royal Oak in Settle, Tuesday the 5th of February.  
  • Sedbergh People’s Hall, Wednesday the 6th of February.  
  • Orton Market Hall, Monday the 11th of February. 
  • Buck Inn, Reeth, Thursday the 14th of February. 

Sally Howorth from the National Park Authority said:  “The next application window for Countryside Stewardship schemes is likely to open in February. Farmers are invited to come along to the evening meetings to find out what further support is available to them from our farm conservation and trees and woodlands team.”
