Progress update:
From 2012 the Yorkshire Dales will be benefitting from the Department of Transport's Local Sustainable Transport Fund. The Dales Integrated Tranport Alliance (DITA) has been successful in securing £1.1 million of funding for 2011-2015 to develop solutions for public and community transport in the Yorkshire Dales. This will be focused on making best use of existing resources, to provide a better service at no additional long-term cost.
The bid was submitted by West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive. The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, along with North Yorkshire County Council are project partners. DITA includes over 50 individual organisation and is being set up as a charity and company limited by guarantee.
