Progress update:

The National Park Authority undertook research in 2007 including working with two focus groups. The result was the development of the ‘Go Dales!’ project. The project, which was funded by Sport Engalnd, was set up to provide young people (8-25) including young parents, with an early, enjoyable and ‘relevant’ experience of the countryside, and national park, and introducing them to activities that they enjoy and want to do. The idea is that a high quality experience, in the countryside, will lead to greater awareness of how visits to the countryside and participation in outdoor activities can enrich their lives, and health and well-being. See objective AR8 for more details of what's been achieved so far by the Go Dales project.
