By 2009, assess the most likely impacts of climate change on the National Park over the next 15 years, and use this to produce an adaptation plan for managing those impacts.

Progress update:

Nationally, Natural England is currently piloting an approach to the assessment of the impact of climate change on the natural environment in four different ‘character areas’.  Natural England will be reviewing the outcomes of these pilots in 2008 and will then establish a programme to develop climate change adaptation strategies for areas which are assessed as having the greatest vulnerability to climate change.
